Living with a Personality Disorder

When I was 19 years old I was diagnosed with a personality disorder. Since I hadn’t started medication for it, I suffered from depression as well. It was terrible, I had attempted suicide twice in 14 months…and I used to self-harm everyday. I did some research on the internet and learned that personality disorders were incurable. I checked with a lot of psychiatrists, but nobody understood my problem. They said they did, but the medicines they gave me didn’t work. I became hopeless and stopped seeing doctors. Then my aunt referred me to a very good psychiatrist who changed my life. I followed his prescription for about 2 years and my depression was treated. I still have the personality disorder, but it is really easy to live with, and it was basically the depression which was making me insane.Next time if I am in crisis, I know I am not going to give up.
