Mating Mayhem

Flowerhorn pet fish is hot in our region right now and currently I am a successful owner and breeder. I already have over 300 flowerhorn fishes including fries. I’ve bred most of them. I really love how their fries grow out to be. Breeding different kinds of flowerhorn results to assorted fry breeds. I decided to breed my king kamfa flowerhorn and my parrot fish for the first time to see if they’ll work out. I left them in the tank for a while and then when I checked them again I was surprised to see my parrot fish swimming for her life. I was too late when I rescued my parrot fish because her wounds were brutal. It was the first time I encountered this kind of situation because a male and a female fish usually get along well. I asked my friend about this and he told me that when breeding a wild king kamfa with a parrot fish I need to divide the tank first into two with a transparent glass in between. Let the two fishes stay in opposite sides for at least 3 weeks before removing the divider. I really wish I learned everything first before attempting to do such. I could have saved my parrot fish :’(
