I have only ever eaten one can of clam chowder in my life – the first and last can. I was about 12 years old and maybe just a little bit immature to be let loose in the kitchen. I put the soup in a pot and cooked it stovetop until it started to bubble. Then I simply took it off and ate it. I still have trouble seeing what was wrong with that scenario, but I am guessing I should have let it boil a little bit longer? Nonetheless, I spent the next several hours vomiting due to what I could only assume was food poisoning from the soup. I still shudder when I see canned clam chowder.
