Drive Slow in the rain

It seems like life sometimes teaches its lessons simultaneously. When I was little, I liked to save money. My parents were financial responsible, so they made me that way too. When I was old enough to drive, my parents paid for 75% of my first car, but that car came with a warning. They told me that this was the only car that they would help me pay for. It was only two years old and I loved it. Well, of course, like most first cars, it was involved in an accident. It was around Christmas and I was driving back from the shopping mall. The backseat of my car was full of store-wrapped gifts and I was singing Christmas carols along with the radio. It was beginning to get dark and about half hour away from home it began raining. I was slowed down and started going slower than the speed limit posted, but I apparently was not going slowly enough. I hydroplaned. My car spun around a few times and crashed into the median of the highway. I, of course, was shaken up. I got my senses together and made sure I wasn’t hurt. I was ok, but when I looked down at my feet, I could see grass through my floorboard-my car was not ok. It was completed wrecked-totaled. I learned two things that day, go very slow in the rain (because you might get hurt) and drive extra careful in the car your parents helped you purchase because you will have to work very hard for your next one.
